CLT Loft Sessions - Four Corners Charlotte

Loft Sessions is an intimate concert series designed to cultivate a listening room environment where the subtleties in the artistry can be heard and celebrated. We want people to have a unique experience that highlights what Charlotte has to offer in a way that sparks conversation on cultivating the art culture and community of the city we love. Click here for our blog to see some of our past events.

Four Corners is an outworking of that idea, collaboratively dreamt up and produced by the CLT Loft Sessions, TiMar Entertainment, and Not Just Coffee.  We wanted to do something different that was still in line with our vision of  bringing together our friends and family in the Queen City to support our local artists. This is what we dreamt up!

Four Corners brings together four different artists from four different genres, backed by one house band. The artists are rearranging their songs with the house band to create new expressions of their work to be experienced in this way one time, one night only.

Collaboration and creative expression is the starting point where culture, arts, people, and ideas can cross-pollinate to become something greater than the sum of its parts and we are excited and humbled to be a part.

Speaking Engagement

Join me and many music industry professionals and music enthusiasts on August 3-4 at Confluence, presented by @USNWC in association with @MaxxMusic  and @Midwood_Entertainment . Confluence celebrates, showcases, and develops Charlotte’s local music scene and features two days of live music from local musicians, and panel discussions with industry professionals. Check the website out for a more detailed schedule of events. I will be one of many panelists discussing the ever changing music scene here in Charlotte and beyond. Looking forward to learning from all the talent and expertise as well hearing performances from some of the best music local talent.

Confluence panel discussions have no cost to attend, but have limited space. So be sure to register for the panels you’d like to attend!

The Biscuit (a rebrand that I was honored to design!)

If you’ve ever met Tim Minor or Matt Olin, the co-leaders and co-founders of the Charlotte chapter of Creative Mornings, then it should come as no surprise that they’ve taken an ambitious (and in my mind necessary) next step of launching an organization called Charlotte Is Creative. And with it, (among many other things) they’ve crafted a media platform/newsletter that reports on the creative happenings here in Charlotte!
It’s only a few months old and already been named 2019’s “Best Email to Land in Your Inbox” by Charlotte Magazine. With a true diversity of voices and inventive approaches to content, storytelling, profiles and investigations, The Biscuit rises up at the intersection of Charlotte’s creativity and community engagement.
They champion those working to make this a vibrant, welcoming home. While all those who contribute to The Biscuit may not agree on everything, they are united in the understanding that Charlotte is an astonishingly creative city. And, we are bound by a passion to explore the people, ideas and initiatives striving to make the Queen City a place where all have a chance to be heard, seen, successful and celebrated.

Music Everywhere Report

The Music Everywhere CLT action plan was designed to better support and grow our local music industry. I am excited to be part of this effort, but it’s going to take all of us, working together, to generate the attention and organization needed to make the music made, produced and performed in our communities a stronger economic driver and a more sustainable industry. Have a read read and see how you can get involved.
